My apologies for leaving you for so long without one of my scintillating pieces to read, I’ve been busy travelling and film-making - interviewing rock stars for my documentary about the Marquee club - and yes, I admit it, having fun too.

This coming weekend I’ll work on a new piece. Meanwhile, on Thursday there’s an interesting event.

I do lots of podcasts and interviews for TV and radio, but this one is a bit special. It’s an American produced show - The Smartest People in the Room - usually a conversation, but sometimes an argument, between two well-chosen people from the music industry. This week I’m going to be one of them. The other one will be Ralph Simon, the notoriously charming ex co-owner of Zomba records, now a globetrotting entrepreneur and man of wisdom.
