Another fabulous read Simon. The big question for me was about the precious A&R man - I'm sure nobody outside the industry knew him, and I would have thought inside your credibility is about the quality of your money making ideas, not what the Melody Maker might say about your latest release.

It sounds like you had the last laugh this time...

Fantastic! How could I have forgotten this story? All your books are in another location from me, so I will have to buy another copy, or wait impatiently until I get back!

Nothing beats the South of France in the summer, except a story about it in the Fall from Simon Napier-Bell! I hung onto every word and enjoyed the Mayor’s banquet with you! Thank you for another great chapter, Simon!

Omg. These snippets have really whetted my appetite. Would you believe I’ve still not received my copy or perhaps I thought I ordered it but didn’t 🤔. Too many senior moments 😀Anyway now I’ll be in one place for 6 months I can have it posted reliably

I've always found Farian fascinating. Another similar to him but with more regional success was Bobby Orlando. Not too much info out there on him...

Delicious stuff as usual Simon. Imagine if the tide HAD come in! Now I remember, I met Donovan (modelling a mink coat) when the evil Mark Edwards brought me to your house - was it Bryanston Square? Must have been 1974. Hey, Chapter 1 of my multimedia novel is now out on my Substack!
